Sole Senses Reflexology

Hello! Welcome to the online home of Sole Senses Reflexology based in Cardiff. Named Reflexology Clinic of the year in both the 2023 and 2024 Welsh Enterprise Awards.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy which works on the feet or hands to treat the whole person (mind, body and emotions) and is suitable for people of all ages. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower legs and hands correspond with different areas of the body and as reflexologists we work these areas with a view to bringing about a sense of balance and wellbeing.

Health is defined as physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Reflexology is a gentle therapy that encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. It can help you to relax and sleep better bringing about a greater feeling of wellbeing. Higher levels of wellbeing correlate with feeling relaxed, happy, energetic and vibrant.

Many people have reflexology in order to relax the mind and body as a way of counteracting stress which can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. Reflexology is a proactive step you can take towards improving your own health and wellbeing.

How might it help:-

As Reflexologists we do not claim to cure however, reflexology can be used to support illnesses both acute and chronic. It is a complementary therapy and can be used alongside other medical treatments. Many people find that how they are able to cope with their illness or issue improves after reflexology.

Stress alone can manifest in a myriad of physical symptoms such as poor sleep, headaches, low mood, anxiety, panic attacks, palpitations to name just a few. Reflexology can help relieve tension thereby lowering your stress levels and improving your general sense of wellbeing.

Reflexology is believed to balance the systems of the body all of which are required to work in harmony with one another to bring equilibrium. The effect of the treatment is entirely individual and everyone will react slightly differently.

It is usually recommended to have a course of reflexology treatments  and thereafter many people find it of benefit to have regular treatments in order to maintain health and wellbeing.

Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice. Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose, prescribe or cure.

Increased Wellbeing

By releasing tension and improving sleep we feel much more energetic, vibrant, relaxed and happier in ourselves. All of these things give us a greater sense of wellbeing thereby improving our quality of life overall.

Sleep

By helping to switch off the stress response and balancing the systems of the body we are able to relax better and regain our own natural rhythms. This can reduce time taken to drop off to sleep and give you longer, deeper more restorative sleep meaning you are waking up feeling more refreshed and energetic and able to face the day.

Relaxation

How often do we actually relax properly. When we relax fully our body is able to rest and repair and our mind able to switch off for a while.
